When you add your Smart pension scheme on PayFit, you will be prompted to fill in some information about your scheme. This article will show you where you can find that information.

What information does PayFit ask for?

It is very important that you fill in the requested information correctly to allow us to successfully upload your pension contributions. All of this information can be found by logging into your Smart account.

When adding a Smart scheme on PayFit, you will need to head to My Company > Pensions > My Schemes > Add New Pension Scheme > select Smart > fill out contribution details > click on Set up employee pension account.

Once you've selected Set up employee pension account, you will reach this section 👇

Where to find this information in Smart Pension

Employer ID: You can find this on the very first page you will come to (Dashboard) in the ‘Scheme Details’ box at the bottom of the page. We are looking for the ‘COMPANY ID’, please be careful not to get this confused with the COMPANY NUMBER.

Group: Using the Menu in the top right hand corner of the page navigate to > Scheme set up > Groups. Here you will see any groups you have set-up.

More than one worker group

If you have more than one group then you should fill the Group box with the group that the majority of your employees are in.

This needs to be an exact copy of the text on Smart Pension (ie: exact same capitalisation). If you are copying and pasting please check for any leading or trailing spaces when pasting the text into PayFit.

For employees in other groups you will need to go into their pension settings at employee level and input the group name into the ‘Worker Group’ box (My Employees > Employment > Edit Pension > input the group name into the ‘Worker Group’ box).

If you do not have any groups set up then please input ‘default’ into the box.

Start of earning period: Go to Menu > Contributions & payroll. Here you will see your contributions history. In this table there is a column called ‘Starts On’. You should use the day of the month from this column for your start of earnings period. EG: 06/08/2021, you would input 6th on PayFit.

Payment due date: Please input ‘7th’ in this box. Smart Pension will always try to take contributions through your direct debit on the 7th of the following month.

🎉 You are all done 🎉
