When adding new employees to PayFit, you can choose to add a probationary period and receive an advance notification when their probationary period is due to end.

You can set up a maximum of two probationary periods. The period can be days, weeks, or months. You can define probation periods at the company level or set them for individual employees.

Setting company probationary periods

We'll usually set up your probationary period when you onboard with PayFit, but if you'd like to check or amend it:

  1. From the left, choose Company settings, then Payroll set-up.

  2. Under the Employee settings section, click Edit.

  3. You can add or edit a probationary period under the Probation periods section.

  4. Once you're finished, click Save.

Setting an individual probationary period

To add or amend the probation period for an employee:

  1. From the employee's record, click the Employment tab.

  2. Under the Contract section, click Edit contract.

  3. Make the adjustment under the Probation Period section, then click Save.

Set up email notification reminders

You can add an email address to receive reminders and notifications. To set up an email notification to remind you that an employee's probation period ends soon:

  1. From the left, choose Access & Emails, then Email Notifications.

  2. Under the Admin emails section, click Edit.

  3. Check that the main admin email address is correct.

  4. Next to End of probation period, toggle on the Activated option.

  5. From the Notification drop-down, choose when you'd like to be sent an email reminder.

  6. Click Save.

An email will be sent to the main admin email address at the time specified.
