By activating online PAYE notifications on your HMRC account, you'll be able to set up PayFit to retrieve and action these notifications automatically.

Note: Generic Notices from HMRC usually contain messages about late payments or submissions. These notifications won't appear in your PayFit account, you'll need to check your HMRC account periodically and action these manually.

To activate electronic notifications in your HMRC account:

  1. Log in to your HMRC account, then click View tax codes or notices and set up alerts at the bottom of the page.

  2. Under the Notices preferences section, click Change how you get tax code and student loan notices.

  3. Next to each notification type, choose Yes.

Next, you need to enable the option in PayFit to retrieve your HMRC notifications and apply them automatically. To do this:

  1. Log in to your PayFit account.

  2. From the left, click Company settings, then HMRC information.

  3. Under the HMRC Preferences section, click HMRC Settings.

  4. Toggle on the HMRC notifications option, then click Save.

After a few days, your notifications from HMRC should appear in your PayFit account. To view these:

  1. From the left, choose Run my payroll, then Monthly changes.

  2. Under the HMRC notices section, click Tax code.

  3. You'll see a list of the tax code changes this month.

Find out more about tax code changes in your PayFit account.
