If your employer uses the HR module within PayFit, they may have given you access to the Leaves section within your employee space. You can use this to book annual, remote, sick, and unpaid leave.

How do I request a leave?

Request annual, remote or unpaid leave

  1. Log in to your PayFit account: https://app.payfit.com/

  2. From the left, choose Leaves, then click Leave request.

  3. From the Leave type drop-down, select the type of leave.

  4. Select the dates you'd like to book.

  5. Click Submit.

  6. Add any additional comments about your leave for your manager.

  7. Click Send request.

Request sick leave

  1. Log in to your PayFit account: https://app.payfit.com/

  2. From the left, choose Leaves, then click Leave request.

  3. From the Leave type drop-down, select Other, then Sick leave.

  4. Click Confirm.

  5. Select the dates you'd like to book.

  6. If necessary, attach your sick note.

  7. Click Confirm.

  8. Add any additional comments about your leave for your manager.

  9. Click Send request.

You can track the status of your leave requests in the Leaves section. Otherwise, you'll receive an email when your manager either validates or rejects your leave request.

What happens now?

After you request your absence on PayFit, your manager receives an email and/or Slack notification. They can choose to accept or decline your request.

βœ… If your manager accepts your request:

  • You'll receive an email notification confirming it's been approved.

  • The status of your absence request changes to Approved.

  • If your company uses the company calendar on PayFit, you'll see this absence there.

❌ If your manager declines your request:

  • You'll receive an email notification confirming it's been rejected.

  • The status of your absence request changes to Refused.

How do I cancel my request?

If you no longer need to take leave, you can cancel this in your employee space. To do this:

  1. Click the Leaves tab, then click the leave you'd like to request.

  2. Click Cancel leave.

If your leave wasn't already approved, it's cancelled immediately.

If your leave was approved, your manager receives a notification of your request. They can choose to accept or decline the cancellation.

βœ… If your manager accepts your cancellation:

  • You'll receive an email notification confirming it's been cancelled.

  • The status of your absence request changes to Cancelled.

❌ If your manager declines your cancellation:

  • You'll receive an email notification to confirm that your cancellation hasn't been accepted.

  • The status of your absence request remains Approved.

If you need to cancel your request after the absence date has passed, please contact your payroll team, who can cancel this for you.

How do I know how much annual leave I have left to take?

When logging in to your employee space, you'll see your annual leave balance on the dashboard. To view a breakdown of how it's calculated, from the left, choose Leaves, then click the My balance tab.

Here you'll see:

  • Granted (current year): Your total annual leave entitlement for the leave year.

  • Carried over (previous year): The number of days or hours you had remaining at the end of last year that your employer allows you to carry forward to the current leave year.

  • Used (by the end of the current month): The number of days or hours you'll have taken by the end of the current month. This includes any leaves booked this month, but before the end of the month.

  • Approved (for a later month): These are days you've booked but haven't taken yet.

To view specific dates of leave taken or booked, click the My leaves tab.
